A key role of the academy is to be an advocate for better standards in research-based design and maintenance of environments and spaces that contribute to the improvement of people’s health and well-being. Advocacy initiatives are targeted at national, pan-regional and global governments and public bodies and include: public relations, lobbying and standards and guidelines development.
