Call for Nominations - Regional Chapter Leadership Committees

The Academy is now calling for nominations for directors and committee members for its regional chapters

The International Academy for Design and Health (IADH) is a global non-profit organisation with an interdisciplinary knowledge community. It is dedicated to understanding the interaction between design, health, science, culture and economics to help create physical environments that support health promotion and healthy societies. Founded by Dr Alan Dilani in 1997, the IADH is moving into the future under the direction of CEO, Gunther De Graeve.

At the World Congress for Design and Health in Vienna 2017, the vision and strategies for the Academy moving forward were revised. Read more here: Vision and Strategy

Key to our governance strategy is the establishment of regional chapters to build and support our global leadership team. Collectively, we will work together to further the vision of IADH. We will also work independently to address issues and provide services that are relevant in each region.

As a member of a regional chapter committee, you will help to shape the goals, structure and activities of the chapter, build its network, and work with the global team on the broader journey of the Academy. Seven regions were loosely identified at the strategy workshop held in Vienna: Africa & Middle East, Europe, North America, South America, Asia Pacific, South East Asia, and Asia (predominantly China).

Each regional chapter committee will determine and manage its region's governance structure independently, in a manner that works best for the region and its members. Some guidelines from the global entity will be provided, and the Director of each region will be the main liaison between the region and the Executive Board. We expect the roles and responsibilities of regional committee members will evolve in the first few months of establishment.

To nominate, go to the online Chapter Leadership Nomination Form.

Nominations are open until 20 November 2017.

Nominations will be reviewed by the Executive Board, and decision/announcement is expected to be made by mid-December 2017.
