Prof Ian Forbes is managing director of Forbes Associates International Health Facility Planning Consultants and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Technology, Sydney.
He is an architect and health services planner with qualifications in architecture, business administration and healthcare & epidemiology. Previously he was a partner in TBP&P in Vancouver, Canada, where he lived for 12 years and over the past 10 years in Australia as a Director at both Woodhead and DesignInc Architects, in their Sydney studios, covering health and aged care projects.
In academia he was the Head of School of Health Services Management for 7 years of his 15 years in the Faculty of Medicine at University of NSW and is now an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Design Architecture and Building at the University of Technology, Sydney. He has been planning and developing health facilities for over 35 years in Australia, Canada, Africa, Asia and various Pacific Island Countries. He has an extensive list of publications and has received many research grants.
