Dr Jane Hendy

Dr Jane Hendy is an organisational psychologist. She is part of the Healthcare Management Group and a member of the Health and Care Infrastructure Research and Innovation Centre (HaCIRIC) at Imperial College Business School. Jane previously held positions at University College London, and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Jane’s research focuses on large, potentially transformational, organisational initiatives, researching organisational factors underlying the successful and sustainable introduction of new methods of health service delivery. Currently Jane is researching the introduction of remote care in the UK. Jane leads a team working on the evaluation of remote care for the Department of Health called the Whole System Demonstrators programme.

The programme is a large randomised controlled trial of remote care, currently involving 6,000 participants in the UK. This ministerial led programme will potentially change how care for the elderly is delivered in the UK, and worldwide.
