Primera
Primera is a U.K. based company specialising solely in the design and manufacture of anti-ligature door and window hardware for use in applications where there is risk of self harm. Our mission is to ensure that all our products are fit for purpose and provide clinical staff with all the necessary safety and management features to address the challenges that can occur on the ward during the course of their working day.
The locks and fittings are purposefully designed solutions to the risk of ligature, barricade, tamper and wrench whilst also addressing the important issue of privacy and dignity. Although these products are extremely robust the designs are balanced to ensure a soft non institutional appearance that blends well with the building.
The products are also designed to meet the guidance given in hospital technical manuals and to exceed the requirements of the only formal UK standard for anti ligature fittings DHF TS001.
2012 marks the delivery of many new and innovative products from Primera including a newly designed ‘convertible’ window handle, an easy fit detachable door stop for double action anti-barricade doors and a new extended length lockable bolt for slave leaf doors. Last but not least is our new flagship the PASS:PORT, a stand-alone, battery powered, keyless anti-barricade lock-set designed principally for bedroom door applications.
