MAAP is a multi-disciplinary company committed to well-considered planning and design of healthcare buildings. Our approach is centred on people and the belief that research and excellence in design can create better medical and therapeutic environments for patients, staff and the public to experience and enjoy.
Established in 1991, the founding Directors are former members of the Medical Architecture Research Unit in London. Today, we design buildings, undertake research, consultancy and provide advice to professional bodies in the healthcare sector. Our work spans two decades and includes projects in the UK and more recently in North America, Europe and Australasia.
As the firm has evolved the Directors have developed specialist areas of responsibility and established a team of associates to cater for a wide range of business activities which include: Architectural Services, Healthcare Planning, Interior Design and Landscaping.
We have offices in London and Newcastle as well as subsidiary companies in Sydney, Australia and Toronto, Canada. The company has teams comprising of very experienced healthcare architects and younger dedicated designers working on projects from small-scale clinics to large hospitals for acute, primary care, mental health, and community social care facilities.
The practice has established an enviable reputation for good quality design and has gained numerous design awards for medical facilities. Directors and key staff are regularly asked to speak on aspects of healthcare design at professional and industry events and provide expert peer review for major international and UK hospital projects.
