Alan Dilani is founder and director-general of the International Academy for Design & Health, co-founder of World Health Design magazine, and author of many books, articles and research papers on salutogenic design.

Ray Pentecost III DrPH, FAIA, International Academy for Design & Health, USA

A licensed architect, Ray Pentecost III is president of the International Academy for Design & Health, past president of the American Instititute of Architects Academy of Architecture for Health, and a director of Clark Nexsen.

Dato Dr Abd Rahim bin Mohamad, Ministry of Health Malaysia

A public health administrator, Dato Dr Abd Rahim bin Mohamad is presently director for planning and development at the Ministry of Health in Malaysia. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health (UK) by distinction.

Graduate School of Design, Harvard University, USA An architect and educator, Mohsen Mostafavi is the Dean of the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He serves on the steering committee of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture and the board of the Van Alen Institute.

Innocent Okpanum, Ngonyama Okpanum Associates, South Africa
Dr Innocent Okpanum is an architect, researcher, urban and healthcare design specialist and managing director and owner of Ngonyama Okpanum Associates with offices in eight cities in South Africa and in Abuja, Nigeria.


Yeunsook Lee PhD, Yonsei University, Korea
Dr Yeunsook Lee is professor and director of the Institute of Millenium Environmental Design and Research at Yonsei University in Korea. She is the author of many books on designing for children and the elderly in Korea.

Rohaizan A Kadir Jailani, Ministry of Health, Malaysia

Dr Rohaizan is the senior principle assistant director of the planning and development division at the Ministry of Health, Malaysia. Medically trained, she started her career as a health facility planner in 2006.

Massoud Shaker PhD, Pr Eng CPEng, Minister of Health, South Africa
Dr Massoud Shaker is senior advisor to the health minister of South Africa working on the redevelopment of health facilities in South Africa. He has a PhD in engineering from the University of New South Wales in Australia.

Ar Datin Norwina M Nawawi, International Islamic University Malaysia
Ar Datin Norwina M Nawawi is associate professor at the Department of Architecture and Environmental Design at the International Islamic University, Malaysia. She is a fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Architects.

A former CEO and senior executive in the pubic, private and not for profit sectors, Dr Liz Paslawsky advises internationally to health and architectural clients on strategic business development and capital works solutions.

Internationally recognised for his work on environmental health and health promotion, Tony Capon is presently a professor with the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health at the Australian National University.

Mike Nightingale has dedicated his 36-year career to elevating the design of healthcare buildings to new levels of excellence. In 1989 he founded Nightingale Associates which has offices across the UK and in South Africa.

Prof Ian Forbes is managing director of Forbes Associates International undertaking health, aged care and health services planning consultation. He is also adjunct professor at the University of Technology, Sydney.

Liak Teng Lit MBA, BSc, MSc, CEO, Alexandra Health, Singapore
Liak Teng Lit began his career as a pharmacist was appointed CEO of the Alexandra Hospital in 2000. He has been involved in the redevelopment of many hospitals, including the new Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in Singapore.

Hadithah Binti Husin, Ministry of Health, Malaysia
Dr Hadithah Binti Husin works in the planning and development division of the Ministry of Health as a facility planner engaged in the medical and equipment planning of a range of government health facilities.

Tarenah Dean, University of Portsmouth, UK
Prof Tarenah Dean is director of research and professor of health sciences at the University of Portsmouth. Widely published, she is leading the 2012 launch of the MSc Design & Health in collaboration with the IADH.

Gunther De Graeve, Destravis Group, Australia
Gunther De Graeve is managing director of international design consultancy, Destravis, delivering design strategies for health facilities, and co-chair of the bid team for the 9th Design & Health World Congress, Brisbane, 2013.
