Design & Health World Congress - Boston 2011
The 7th Design & Health World Congress and Exhibition was held to great acclaim in Boston, USA from 6-10 July, 2011.
The International Academy for Design & Health has been uniting the fields of architecture, design, the health sciences, economics and psychology for two decades, achieving its ambition to be one of the most significant health development organisations in the world. Its global status is recognised in the organization of the 7th World Congress for Design & Health in the Boston, where delegates enjoyed the opportunity to learn and share knowledge and ideas in a leading-edge scientific programme that will underpin future professional practice in health promotion by design.
As one of the oldest cities in the USA, and the capital of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Boston is considered the economic and cultural centre of the region. With a rich history dating back to 1630, when the Puritan colonists from England founded the city, Boston is now a major shipping port and manufacturing centre. With its many colleges and universities, the city is also a centre for higher education, research and medicine, providing an ideal setting for the 7th Design & Health World Congress. Delivered in partnership with the American Institute of Architects and with the support of Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard School of Design and Harvard Business School, as well as many industry sponsors, the congress connected researchers and practitioners from all over the world, providing a chance for delegates to engage with the world’s foremost interdisciplinary network of thought leaders, including architects, environmental designers, psychologists, physicians, nurses, health planners, health policy makers and other decision makers.
