IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
ENTRY DEADLINE EXTENSION: 15 APRIL, 2013
The Design & Health International Academy Awards is the world's leading advocacy programme, recognising professional excellence in the research and practice of designing healthy environments.
The annual awards programme has a significant influence on the global design of salutogenic environments that support health, wellbeing and quality of life, reflecting important aspects of the exceptional work undertaken by researchers and practitioners at the forefront of the field of design and health.
The awards are open to international organisations in both the private and public sectors participating in either research or practice, including the planning, procurement, design, construction and management of healthy environments.
The judging panel is constructed from a group of independent experts from Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania and the Americas. Experts in their field, the judges come from multi-disciplinary backgrounds in research and practice, bringing with them a breadth of experience in their field.
Recipients of the awards are teams and individuals who through outstanding efforts have contributed to the progress of knowledge and demonstrated vision and leadership in exemplary initiatives within the field.
Objectives
The objectives of the awards are to:
- Establish a global design benchmark for the psychosocially-supportive design and the development of healthy environment.
- Establish a global research benchmark for papers into issues relating to the field of design and health.
- Reward and recognise the achievements of design and health professionals, including architects, designers, researchers, health professionals, facility managers and contractors in the successful delivery of leading edge research and innovative health-centric projects and buildings.

The deadline for submissions to the Call for Entries for the 2013 Design & Health International Academy Awards has recently been extended to 15 April, 2013. The awards ceremony will be held on 13 July in Brisbane, Australia during the 9th Design & Health World Congress & Exhibition, from 10-13 July, 2013.
