Criteria

Award to recognise the effective application of creative endeavour (of any type or in any medium) which further advances knowledge of the potential of the arts to assist significantly in the therapeutic process. Preference will be given to conspicuous success in new approaches, stretching still further the boundaries of possibility in the wide creative field.

  • Creativity: Describe how the project captures the unique culture of the organisation, displays therapeutic qualities and supports the overall wellbeing of patients, visitors and staff to create an uplifting place
  • Sustainability: Demonstrate how the scheme supports maintenance efforts, budgets and environmentally-sustainable initiatives
  • Research and project evaluation: Describe how research has affected the scheme design and how the final installation will be evaluated against stated goals
  • Stakeholder engagement: Explain with examples how a multi-disciplinary approach and consultation with staff, users and the wider community achieved an integrated process through all stages of the project
  • Innovation: Indicate how innovations, including the use of natural materials, colour, music and visual art have impacted on all of the senses and improved interpersonal relations between patients, families and staff
