Criteria
Awarded for a completed healthcare project where issues of sustainability are achieved at a level conspicuously above the present mandatory norm and which set a new standard of attainment to satisfy legislative, technical, financial and moral imperatives. The award will only be made for exceptional solutions which must have been in full operation for a minimum of one year.

Submissions must demonstrate:
The use of whole life costing to reduce the reliance on lowest first cost
Consideration of the impact of future clinical need to embed spatial and system flexibility
A delivered carbon strategy
The introduction of innovation from other sectors and evaluated within a healthcare context
Examples of a design balance between the therapeutic environment and clinical efficiency
Submissions for this category may have been completed between the 1 January 2005 and 1 March 2010
